    1. Hi Cath, apologies for the late response to this (I am presuming somebody else hasn’t replied yet, though it is possible); I am finally catching up on admin after being snowed under with new-album related chores! Hope all is well with you and yours? If you would like to receive the newsletter, to meet with new laws about databases we need you to register for it. If you go to the front page of the website, in the top right hand corner there are two boxes – one asks for your email and the other for the part of the world you are in. If you fill these in and submit, we will then automatically add you to the newsletter. Hope that is okay? Thanks for the support and interest. Martin

  1. Eyup lads. Was privileged to see you tonight at ‘The Drift”s christmas recording. Lovely stuff, and you filled really well with the history to accommodate the strictures of recording a show. Had to explain to my 11 year-old lad, who was there wi’ me, what calico is; we’re from West Yorkshire, where shoddy and mungo were King. Didn’t spoil the tune for him, though; he sang it all the way home. Cheers.

    1. Glad you both enjoyed it Simon. You will have to bring your lad to a full show next year – they are always child friendly; they have to be as quite often a couple of our own kids are in the audience or even on stage with us! Check out the gig list on here, but I know we are playing the Homfirth Folk Festival in the summer and then the Halifax Literary Festival in the autumn. Have a great Christmas. Martin

  2. Hi Sam – I’m just resending an email sent on behalf of Reeth Memorial Hall a couple of months ago. I I’ve also re-sent to the Doolally Gmail address:-
Greetings from Reeth. I hope you are safe and well.
Just looking ahead to the gig planned for Friday 9th July here. I wonder if it would be best to postpone as if social distancing measures are still in place by then, we won’t be able to have more than 25-30 in the Hall, which wouldn’t make it viable.
The Hall is currently on a phased reopening with The Seedlings (u5s) being the only group that are meeting at present. An added challenge is that our caretaker has just retired at the end of March (at the youthful age of 84) so the Memorial Hall is now working out contingency measures that are also Covid-19/sanitisation compliant.
Let me know your thoughts and also if we postpone, if there are any particular times of 2021 or 2022 that we could look at.
    All the best

    John
With today’s announcement of a further 2 week extension to the 21st June date on the Gov’t Roadmap, I think it would make sense to postpone.
